Dance Ireland Strategy 2018-2023 Launch

Moving Forward Together, Leonie McDonagh, Neil Hainsworth and Deirdre Griffin

I had the pleasure of attending party for Dance Ireland's Strategy Launch for 2018 to 2023  "MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER" last month.

Dance Ireland moved to Foley St, in the north inner city of Dublin in 2006.  Dance House is a Flagship hub for dance in Ireland, with six state of the art studios, an Artists' Resource Room, with archive, library and breakout spaces. It's a beautiful, airy, made for purpose building.

There was a great buzz in the room as the Strategy for the next five years was launched by Minister for Finance Paschal Donohue, followed by a creative expression of the future plans danced out by Leonie McDonagh, Deirdre Griffin and Neil Hainsworth.

"Our bold ambition is for dance to be valued, and vibrantly, actively and confidently part of peoples' lives.Achieving this, we believe, would ensure a sustainable future for dance in ireland and a credible career for those committed to dance as a profession. We exist to make this happen." -Dance Ireland

Dance House run a range of evening classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels. They also have Dance for Parkinson's, and the Macushla Dance Club for older people.
